Fire and gas (F&G) services in the process industry are designed, installed and commissioned to protect people, assets, and the environment by detecting and mitigating the risk of fires and gas leaks. F&G systems use Smoke, flame and gas detectors to identify fires and combustible or toxic gases before they become a threat.

F&G systems can communicate with process control systems (PCS) and can take Executive actions like closing valves or reducing power to reduce the risk of ignition.  The system can activate notification and fire suppression equipment such as FM-200, sprinklers or mist systems.
